Valtellina is one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in Italy: the possibility of hiking, excursions and playing sports here are endless, both in summer and winter. It is a green oasis in the heart of the Alps.

During the summer, it offers dense forests, green fields and valleys to be explored, with more than a half of the territory hosting parks and natural reserves: the Stelvio National Park, the largest in the Alpine arc, the Valtellinesi Orobie Regional Park and seven other natural reserves.

In winter, during the ski season, the beauty of its mountains makes it one of the most popular destinations.

But Valtellina is also much more: it offers a dense calendar of events, including jazz and music festivals, even at high altitudes, exhibitions and village festivals, traditional food and wine itineraries from restaurants to farms where you can taste the typical dishes and the excellent Valtellinese wine.

Many places and small villages to visit such as Tirano, Morbegno and Livigno, as well as Sondrio.
The Basilica of the Madonna di Tirano is the most beautiful example of the Renaissance in Valtellina and preserves, inside, a colossal and precious organ of the 1600s.

Switzerland and the Bernina Red Train

The Bernina Red Train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an incredible travel experience, enough to be rated by National Geographic as "one of the ten most beautiful rail journeys in the world". Departing from Tirano, the train crosses alpine landscapes to say the least spectacular, reaching even 2,253 mt of the Bernina Hospice, then descending to St. Moritz, the pearl of the Engadine.

Greenway dell'Adda or Sentiero Valtellina

A 320km route from the upper Valtellina to the Po Valley to be done by expert or enthusiast bikers or hikers.

Path of the Castles

The Path of the Castles involves eight municipalities of the Valtellina Mountain Community of Tirano (Tirano, Sernio, Lovero, Vervio, Tovo di S. Agata, Mazzo di Valtellina, Grosotto, Grosio) connecting them with an evocative itinerary among churches, castles, towers and archaeological sites of considerable importance for the ethnographic history of Valtellina.

Mortirolo

The Passo del Mortirolo has an altitude of 1,852 mt asl. and connects, only during the summer season, the provinces of Sondrio and Brescia.
The climb of Mortirolo da Mazzo, from the Valtellina side, is considered by many to be the toughest in Europe.

Bormio and the Thermal Baths

Set in the center of the Alps, Bormio boasts an enviable artistic and cultural heritage, to be discovered. From the alleys of the historic center, to nine one-thousand-year-old thermal springs, which feed the thermal baths of Bagni Nuovi and those of Bagni Vecchi in the splendid setting of the National Park of the Stelvio.
